Linking test cases with requirement

Postby rgtl » Mon May 19, 2008 7:50 pm

Has anyone linked requirements with test cases. I donot know how to use the Assign test cases options given under Requirement specification option. When I use this, it says following:
You can't do the assignment due to one of these causes:
There are no Requirement Specification document defined
The Requirement Specifications document is empty

PS: I do have created two requirements.

Also does testlink provides the ability to create a sub requirement?

I'Ve Experienced the Same Behavior

I have also run into precisely the same situation. I created both test cases and requirements, then tried to link them. I received the same messages as the first poster.

If someone knows a fix for this, please post it. Thanks!

Which version do you use? I have not problem to do it with 1.7.4. Please definitely update, if you are using 1.7.0 and older.

I found my problem: I didn't create a requirement under requirement spec. So go to requirement specification document folder, then click on an existing requirement specification... there are 2 boxes, the box down there is for list of requirements, then you can add new requirements to the req. spec. After you add req. then go back to assign test cases, it should work...
