This page should draft project goals for our upcoming releases and list history. There is no time-frame since the team changed and nearly all core people are out.

TestLink 1.9 - Prague
This release will continue to integration the most wanted features (check our tracker to see full list). Especially related to Test Specification. We also nearly finished a re-factoring of core libraries.
New Features:
- Execution platforms (ability to to have spread of results according SUT in one Test Plan)
- Test Specification: step-by-step structure of Test case
- Requirements: versioning
- Requirements: full compliance for n-depth structure
- Infrastructure table (new feature)
- GUI improvements (ajax technology to improve performance; graphics; clean-up)

TestLink 1.8.0 - "Automation base"
Released: March 2009
This release will continue to integration the most wanted minor features. We also would like to open TestLink to easy implementation user features and cooperation with natural completive projects and software. This version brings API for collaboration with test automation scripts (experimental mode). The important part of this release is also stabilization of core functions after deep changes in TL 1.7.
New Features:
- Testlink API - XML/RPC support for get Test results from scripts/external tools. Read more .
- User audit (logging browsable via GUI)
- Test prioritization
- Basic support for test automation (experimental)
- Performance improvement (execution)
- More new interfaces to bug trackers
TestLink 1.7.0 - "Next Generation"
Released: Septemberl 2007
The 1.7 release should include some new features that was the most wanted by user. However the main effort will be pointed to restructualize database schema. The current schema has certain limitations and this step is highly important for future. Of course we are going to update the conversion script for data from older releases. No new development is planned (bug fixing only).
New Features:
- Test Case history/ versioning
- Unlimited structure of Test Specification
- Support for other databases (SQL standard, generalized DB interdace). Postgres and MS-SQL are officially tested.
- Improved user management (editable roles, Test project and Test Plan related rights)
- Attachments
- Revision of Standard terminology

- XML import/export
- Custom fields for Test Cases
- Charts and graphs
- Support for more Bug Trackers (Eventum, Redmine, Trac, Seapine)
TestLink 1.6.0 - "Localization and Requirements"
Released: December 2005
The 1.6 release includes some new features that was cutted off from TL 1.5 and a lot of minor improvements. Bug fixing releases will come (1.6.1, etc.). No new development or bug fixing releases are planned.

TestLink 1.5.0 - "Big Beng"
Released: May 2005
This is big milestone in internal code. Not too much new features but more more solid application. The release. 1.5.1 brings several bug fixes.

- Appearance: Totally new GUI via Smarty, nearly valid (X)HTML + CSS
- Performance: improved SQL performance
- Huge refactorization (include new directory structure)
